1909 – born in Echmiadzin.
1922-1927 – studied at Artistic-industrial college, in the studios of S.Aghadjanyan and S.Arakelyan, Yerevan.
1927-1930 – studied at VKHUTEIN (All-union Artistic Technical Institute), Moscow.
1930-1931 – studied at Art Academy, in the studio of S.Gerassimov, Leningrad.
1937-1945 – gave lessons in the Artistic College, named after P.Terlemezyan, Yerevan.
1954-1959 – gave lessons at the Institute of Fine Arts and Drama, Yerevan.
Since 1960 – People Artist of Armenia.
1967-1968 – Armenia Artists’ Union chairman.
1994 – died in Yerevan.
Worked in painting and graphica (drawing, watercolor, etching, linocut, etc.).
Was awarded two orders and several medals.
The works are kept in the National Gallery for Armenia (Yerevan), State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), private collections.
