Bekaryan Ara (1913-1986)

1913 - Born in Karahissar (Turkey).
1932 - graduated from the artistic-industrial college, Yerevan. Studied at V.Gayfejian’s and S.Arakelyan’s studios.
1939 - graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the Art Academy after I.Repin, Leningrad.
Since 1945 - Honored Art Worker of Armenian SSR.
1945-1986 – gave lessons at the Institute of Fine Arts and Drama, Yerevan.
Since 1964 - professor.
Since 1965 - People Artist of Arm. SSR.
In addition to painting he was also a book designer. He has decorated a number of works of Armenian classical literature.
1986 - died in Yerevan.

Works are kept in NGA (Yerevan), Artistic Fund of Armenia, Funds of the Ministry of Culture for Armenia, numerous private collections in Armenia and abroad.
