Harutyunyan Ara (1928-1999)

1928 - Born in Yerevan.
In 1948 he graduated from the school. P. Terlemezyan,
where he later taught from 1955 to 1966.
In 1977 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR.
Harutyunyan is the author of the monument to Mother Armenia (1967).

Among the most famous works are the Sayat-Nova monument (1963)
and the Komitas monument (1988). He is the author of more than 40 memorials,
sculptural and architectural complexes,
monuments located in Armenia, Russia, France,
Italy and other countries. Ara Harutyunyan's works are kept in the National Gallery of Armenia,
in the Tretyakov Gallery and in other museums,
as well as in private collections.
