Chabanian Arsen (1864-1949)

1864 – born in Sunints village, Karin.

1883 - graduated from the Murad-Raphaelyan College, Venice.

1890 - moved to Feodosia, met H. Aivazovsky.

Studied at Julian Academy in Paris in the studios of Gustav Moro, Jean-Paul Laurence and Benjamin Constance.

1902 – get the honour title of the officer of French Academy.

1926 – opening of personnal eminent exhibition of Shabanyan in the central art gallery of Paris «Georges Petit». Was awarded the National Order of the Legion of Honour. Was one of the founders of the Union of marine painters of Paris and “Colored engraving association”.

1949 – died in Paris.

The works are kept in NGA (Yerevan), in the eminents museums all over the world, also in many private collections in Armenia and abroad.
