Shahverdyan Ruben (1890-1976)

1890 - was born in Georgia.

(1919-1924) studied in Tbilisi at the School of Arts and Sculpture at Eghishe Tadevosyan.

In the paintings of the early period of Shahverdyan, is seen a tendency to decorativeity

In 1941 he moved to Yerevan.

Since 1958 he was engaged in ceramics. Painting works differ local colors, a picture, and ceramic works - a beautiful and rich design, typical of oriental art.

1967 - received the title of People's Artist of the ASSR

He died on August 14, 1976 in Yerevan.

His works are kept in the National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan), in many private collections in Armenia and abroad.
